Sir Arthur Conan Doyles studied medicine in Edinburgh and became an ophthalmologist 
in London. However, his career did not flourish and the money was poor. In his spare 
time, he wrote mystery stories and hit the big time with the creation of Sherlock Holmes 
which gained him fame and fortune.
