............ Station 4: Posterior Segment Disorders
(2 ophthalmologist examiners)
The candidate will be examined on a minimum of two cases selected from the disorders listed
below.
Skills to be tested may include the assessment, interpretation, diagnosis and management of:
• Vitreous disorders
• Retinal detachment
• Retinoschisis
• Degenerative retinal disorders
• Choroidal disorders
• Macular disorders
• Intraocular tumours (primary and secondary)
• Injury involving the posterior segment
Candidates must be proficient in the examination of the posterior segment and in particular the
use of the indirect ophthalmoscope (indentation to be avoided).
