Ophthalmology contains many eponyms but not many of us know the people
behind these names, for example Doyne was an ophthalmologist in Oxford
Eye Hospital and that Argyll Robertson was the same person with double
barrel surnames as was the case for Marcus Gunn.
In this section, people who have given their names to ophthalmic diseases,
physiology or anatomy are included and where possible the articles that
