    The pupils are small and irregular, they do not react to light but react to accommodation.

    Look for:

    • slit-lamp examination may show iris atrophy
    • stigmata of tabes dorsalis for example: stamping gait, positive Romberg's test, and loss of joint and virbation sense to posterior column damage. Charcot's joint with hyperextensibility of joint.
    • diabetes mellitus and alcoholism can cause pseudo-Argyll-Robertson's pupils.
