Malaysia ( 1995 SG568) Centenary of discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Conrad
                                          Roentgen: CT scan
UK ( 1994 SG1841) Europa: Discoveries: MRI scan
An non-invasive way of visualizing the brain is an important step forward in the management of patient
with neuro-ophthalmology problems. Both CT scan and MRI scans are often requested in patients with
neurological disorders. MRI scan had the advantages over CT scan in that no radiation is used and the soft
tissues are better shown. CT scan gives a better view for bony structures. The two techniques complement
each other.
