Caetano Antonio da Gama-Pinto (1853-1945) was born in Goa and obtained
his medical degree in the University of Lisbon in 1978. He did his ophthalmic 
training in Heidenberg University. Upon his return to Portugal he became a 
professor of ophthalmologist and famous his ophthalmic research.
