Imhotep means ' he who comes in peace' is another ancient god of medicine of the Egyptians.
He lived in the third dynasty and was active in Memphis not only as physician but also as an
architect, scholar of law and poet. He had a temple in Memphis which is devoted to healing
especially eye diseases. In picture, he is often portrayed seated holding a cane in his right
hand to symbolize his reign and an Ankh or Crux Ansata in his left hand which is the Key
of the Nile -  a symbol of life.
