Interrupted sutures

(The knots are placed on the sides of the wound to avoid wound depression. The only exception is during upper lid blepharoplasty or ptosis operation when a depressed wound is desirable in order to create the skin crease.
The mattress sutures are better than over and over sutures in ensuring eversion of the wound edge. However, their removal may be difficult by inexperienced nurses. The semi-mattress sutures reduce the puncture marks but may not evert the wound effectively.)
