The Ellebogens' criteria for the ideal eyebrow position and contour are:
  • the brow ends laterally at an oblique line extending from the ipsilateral alar base and ipsilateral medial canthus
  • the brow ends laterally at an oblique line extending through the ipsilateral alar base and lateral canthus
  • the medial and lateral ends of the eyebrow lie at about the same horizontal level
  • the apex of the brow lies directly above the lateral limbus of the eye
  • the brow arches above the supraorbital rim in women and lies about at the level of the rim in men
