Answers:

This is the CT scan of a patient with diplopia.

a. What does the scan show?

An anterior mediastinal mass. This is a thymoma.

b. What serum antibody is associated with this lesion?

Anti-striated muscle antibody.

c. What is the treatment of choice with regard to this lesion?

Thymectomy should be carried out. This is because the tissue
can become locally invasive.
Although thymectomy confers long-term benefit on myasthenia
by improving the prognosis, this benefit is more apparent in those
without thymoma.
